![]() “You’d be surprised at the alternative content that’s not action that we work on,” she said. Though action movies are the likeliest to be brought to life, Yi said 4DX can submerge moviegoers in any genre. We’re in the business of giving people their money’s worth, so we want to punch up parts that need action, but at the same time, we don’t want the movie to be about 4DX. “You don’t want to overstimulate,” Yi cautioned. Calibration takes up to two weeks, Kim said. Once a film is completed, CJ 4DXPLEX’s Hollywood office creates codes and cues for motion prompts and special effects. Movie studios maintain a dialogue with CJ CGV’s sister company, CJ 4DPLEX America, during production, Catherine Yi, creative director, said. “This is the new way the theater has to go. After a soft opening, the CJ CGV theaters held a grand opening Friday. A few didnt like passengers rudeness or bus driver or smells.“We want our customers to leave the theater thinking: This is the new cinema,” said Jason Kim, CJ CGV America West Regional director. I was reading some of the reviews and seems like many had issue with App or buses leaving on time and they got late. Lux America is most expensive I think and leaves from Hollywood. We often dont recommend Greyhound bus which is the cheapest bus. Best to check out reviews on tripadvisor or. In terms of buses to Las Vegas, Megabus or Bolt bus are usually what many visitors take and buses are at Union Station. Or you can walk 2nd street and down Broadway to see the historic core's architecture/buildings and Grand Central Market, Broadway/Spring Street arcade and nearby The Last Bookstore or Spring Street. I would walk up 1st street to Grand Ave and down to 7th Street because of the great architecture along those streets and museums. Little Tokyo to Financial District at 7th Street and Figueroa where many large chain hotels, mainstream shopping, bars are located is about a 20+ minute walk. The map looks small but Downtown is actually quite larger in person. You should avoid walking into Central City. Have Arts District to the east, Civic Center to the north, Historic Core to the west and Central City to the south. It is more residential than office/government buildings and the shops/eateries are more Japanese, thus called Little Tokyo. Little Tokyo is fine for a place to stay. But overall? A great movie experience.Īnswer: Here is a map of Downtown LA's neighborhoods. The only thing is I wish there was more of an elevation to the seats in the dome - because we saw a subtitled film, and I definitely missed a few words because I could barely read them over the head in front of me (if you're short and seeing a subtitled film, you might want to sit in the higher seats on the balcony). Real coffee!!! A little shop? It's nice, updated, modern, clean, just nice in general. You can validate parking in the garage for $3. It's pricey (it was $18.50/ticket to see a movie in the dome - not sure if movies in the theater are the same price), but I had a great experience. ![]() ![]() I currently live in Nashville, which is an indie movie theater desert (we have one independent theater that shows indie movies, and it has two theaters and a tiny closet upstairs it calls a theater), so I blown away (but not surprised) by LA's movie theater options. The Cinerama Dome opened in 1963 but was renovated by ArcLight in 2002 - and it has a curved 32x86-foot screen! What a unique movie watching experience. We decided to see "Portrait of a Lady on Fire," which was showing in the dome. My husband, my brother, and I were visiting LA for a couple of days this past week, and we wanted to see a movie. ![]()
